Energy upgrade of building installations of the Ministry of General Affairs and Governance

Building upon an environmental approach aimed at improving energy performance and energy savings, the Ministry of General Affairs and Governance decided to carry out this project for its two buildings, with SIE acting as the delegated contracting authority. After the preliminary design phase, the existing lighting system was converted to LED technology, and standard air conditioners were replaced with inverter-based units which consume much less energy. In addition, a photovoltaic system for self-generation of electricity was implemented.

The Ministry mobilized and put forward all the necessary funds. This process made it possible to cover the financing of energy retrofit works.

On the other hand, this project contributed to the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the energy efficiency sector and, ultimately, to a tangible reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

At the end of the project, it was found that the energy bill of the Ministry's buildings dropped by nearly 40%, showing annual savings of 65 MWh. The SIE Company continues to support the Ministry in monitoring its energy performance, as well as in the implementation of additional EE measures.
